18 QUESTIONS WITH KARA GOUCHER

Athlete-Advisors at Oiselle. Each represents Oiselle in running/sports via their individual pursuits, and as part of the Oiselle Advisory Group, which helps shape the direction of the company. In turn, our goal is to support their ongoing work as athletes, activists, writers, and thought leaders.

And we thought it was about time to get to know them all a little better. We’re sharing with you short, intimate interviews with each of our three Athlete-Advisors. We are honored to work with these women; these movers and change makers, and wonderful humans.

18 Questions with Alison Mariella Désir
20 Questions with Lauren Fleshman

Kara Goucher joined Oiselle in 2014.(She asked US. Still swooning about that email she sent.) She is an icon in the sport of running – not only for her athletic accomplishments but for her whole-hearted dedication to making the sport a better place for athletes.

More recently, we’ve been thrilled to hear Kara’s voice providing commentary during races, a space where women’s voices have been chronically underrepresented (see also: coverage of women’s running). Turning all that experience and knowledge and passion for her sport into a gig with NBC Sports commentating at both the U.S. Olympic Trials and the Olympic Games in Tokyo in 2021… more please!

Kara is the toughest person we know, and also the goofiest. Our own hearts are both stronger and lighter after a visit from this woman. You’re our ride or die, Kara. And thank you, again, forever, for writing that email.
