18 QUESTIONS WITH REBECCA MEHRA

By

For our fifth part of our “18 Questions” interview series with some of our professional athletes and advisors, we went for a stroll in Magnuson Park with middle distance pro and Littlewing athlete, Rebecca Mehra.

Rebecca Mehra joined Oiselle back in 2017 while running for Stanford and hearing about the company and team through another Haute Volée athlete at the time (Sasha Gollish) at a track meet in Israel. And in September 2018, she began training with Littlewing Athletics in Bend, Oregon under Lauren Fleshman.

Rebecca is a Stanford graduate with degrees focusing on international relations and political communication. She has worked in public policy at many levels – from interning at the U.S. State Department to the office of the Mayor of Bend and more – all while continuing to pursue a professional career as an athlete. Currently, Rebecca works part time for Indigenous Rights law firm Galanda Broadman here in Seattle while being coached by Sarah and Bob Lesko as a Littlewing athlete.

As she explains in her video above, Rebecca’s running life – both collegiate and professional – has been sprinkled with all kinds of injuries over the years, but she finds strength in the resiliency that each has taught her. (Also, never try to wrangle with a broken oven.)

These days, Rebecca and her fiancé, Jordan (AKA BOO), have found a new home up north here in Seattle. And while her own season is over at the moment, you can find her dropping pro running knowledge on the Roosevelt High School cross country team this fall.
